…just some photographic ramblings

about me

I was born in 1981 in Arlington, Texas, but I spent most of my life in Florida living in Orlando, Pensacola, and Tallahassee respectively. I am currently living in Carbondale, Illinois working on my M.F.A. degree in photography at Southern Illinois University Carbondale. I graduated from Florida A & M University with a Bachelor of Science in photography in 2005. I am primarily a fine art and documentary photographer, but I like to dabble in web design, graphic design, and anything else that is in the least bit creative. I have recently started working on my thesis, which will be a photographic documentary of East St. Louis, Illinois. I am planning on having my thesis exhibition in the spring of 2008, God willing.

I started this blog in March of 2006 after visiting New Orleans with the Baptist Collegiate Ministry at SIU. I was walking around a used book store in the French Quarter when my friend Chase encouraged me to start a photo blog. I had held out on the whole blogging phenomenon for awhile, but decided to give it a try. Sometimes I write a lot, sometimes I write a little, and sometimes I just don’t write at all. I guess that’s the way life goes.

When I was 7 years old my father took me to Denny’s early one morning before church and explained to me that Jesus Christ died on the cross as a substitute for me. I strive each day to live my life in a manner that will be glorifying to God and that will give honor to him.
